Nessuna esitazione.
Nessun perdono.
Non esiste una seconda chance.
Nessuna fiducia.
Nessuna debolezza.

Danny – Faccia d’angelo – The Brit viene dalla strada. Danny diventa Faccia d’angelo, qualcosa di quel bambino ferito e testardo resta, in the Brit.
È cattivo, pericoloso.
Ha le mani sporche di sangue. Tanto.
È terribilmente sexy, sa di pericolo e paura.

Powerful. Fearless. Respected.

Un all in.

Rose Cassidy.

But I am me. Twisted, damaged, and trapped. Beyond hope and help.

Hot and cold. Fire and ice. Two very different things that come together so perfectly. He is fire. And he is ice.

Potere. Alcuni impensabili. Molti inconfessabili.

We’re the same…

We’re toxic all on our own. Together, we’re poison.

Together, we’re a force. An inexorable force.

A dangerous force

The Enigma (Unlawful Men 2) di Jodi Ellen Malpas

The face of evil has never been so sexy. A face too beautiful, magnetic and impenetrable. Almost an angel fell to the ground. Ruffled, broken wings. A cursed angel.. Jodie Elle Malpas gives her readers a new alpha – hero, Danny Black – The Brit.. Protagonist of a story (stand alone) dark tones, extreme, as she has never written.. The sensual caress of the Devil.. Evil consumes..And touches the heart, until it hardens and slows down the beat.. Evil is fought with evil.. The line between good and evil is broken, the thirst for justice is strong but often confused with the hunger for revenge and follows only one law: that of the strongest.

In the darkness, in the darkness of a criminal world, few and simple rules are needed to survive, to live, to reign. On a throne of blood and hatred.

Never hesitate.
No hesitation at all.
No forgiveness.
There is no second chance.
No trust.
No weaknesses.

Danny – Angel Face – The Brit is from the street.
He learned the hard law of evil: violence, oppression, abandonment. Blood and contempt.

A single man picked him up from the street and welcomed him into his house dripping with blood and crime.
Danny becomes Angel Face, but something remains in the Brit.
He’s bad, and dangerous.
He’s got blood on his hands. Yeah.
And he’s terribly sexy, he knows danger and fear.
A survivor, who learned to fight. A warrior.

Prince of an empire of crime. Now king undisputed and alone, ready to the greatest gamble of his life…
On the table credibility, power, inheritance of the adoptive father, business. An all in.
To fool a politician and a rival Russian mob, to neutralize the FBI on their heels, to win respect.

A gamble, this serves. The bet at stake is really too high.

Rose Cassidy.
An unexpected? Collateral damage? A diversion?

A hostage. A pawn.
A victim of her seductive beauty, a young woman with murderous charm, who does not belong to herself.
His body is a commodity, a weapon
His mouth promises
His hands dangerous distraction to betray and steal information

Power.
Exercise of power. You play a game between opposing forces, old enemies and new antagonists, between secrets and lies, deception and betrayal. Some unthinkable. Many unthinkable.

A great puppeteer, the one who keeps the limbs of Rose observes and mortally strikes. The true evil. The abjection.

In this power game, the rise is at the slaughter. Everything is at stake: honor, respect, life, freedom. The power struggle between Danny and his rivals becomes a massacre, in the shadows there is a real villain, who has been plotting for years and has no scruples.

Rose has an even darker secret and should not trust Danny, yet they are so close, so similar, so “necessary”…
Two imperfect halves, dented, incomplete.

I would not give details of a compelling storyline full of angst and twists, we can say that Malpas works on the plot, intertwines the dramatic lives of the protagonists in a story that has the flavor of fatality.

Danny is an unconventional hero, difficult, dented and imperfect, invincible yet vulnerable, an irresistible mix that hides the big heart, under a damaged armor. In him roars the secret and irresistible force of despair, under his wounded and marked skin flows as secret and mysterious energy the compassion, that bitter wisdom, of those who too saw and suffered.
That painful humanity that leaves suffering.
Two fates intertwined from the beginning. Rose was betrayed and manipulated, yet she does not give up. She does not withdraw, she does not run away. She fights. An amazon, a fierce queen.
They seek redemption while they administer justice, pouring vengeance almost with a cathartic spirit.
Their history reminds us that love teaches us first of all to love ourselves with all our imperfections.
That scar on Danny’s face from warning and condemnation becomes crack in his armor from which glowing reverberates the feeling.
Trapped in this deadly game, stunned by desire and passion, Danny and Rose move in this story of revenge, desire and redemption sensual, desperate, brave.

It is a wild, passionate and fierce tango.
And just like in the tango, there is a time when the dancers to find their balance must abandon themselves, find the “suspension” get lost and look for a new balance, both precarious and reckless, to stay on their feet. Hug.

The mafia Romance genre gives the protagonists complexity and urgency in dynamics, so they are are fascinating figures: , imperfect, damaged, wounded. Anesthetized by pain and violence.
Danny moves in the dark, without uncertainties, making it his kingdom.
Rose waits not as a wounded animal but as a warrior, as a flower of steel.
And there in the dark they meet, they touch, they provoke each other.

The greatest fear becomes the fear of one’s own fragility.

There – in the dark, where Danny Angel Face advances with his procession of ghosts and monsters, leaving a trail of blood – in the darkness awaits Rose. Fair. Where there is no light only those who belong can “see” really the other.
And that’s when the light seeps into the darkness, goes through the scars, as Cohen said, to bring Love.

And there’s nothing stronger and more terrible than love.
The author with great maturity offers us a new color of Romance,
with his fast-paced and passionate style, with the naturalness that marks his characters, so much so that they come to life on the pages. In this case, the genre setting is not just a “dress”, an attractive patina. The characters are marked, deeply by the environment in which they move and act driven by needs, desires, fears and aspirations related to the place and condition of their lives. They have their own story. And Malpas is telling it to us.
A unique love and a unique story, which makes the stories unforgettable.
